REACH

Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of CHemicals (REACH) is a European Union Regulation which entered into force in June 2007 and calls all enterprises to register the chemical substances they produce or import in the EU. The first deadline for quantities above 1000tn per year was on December 2010 with big success, according to ECHA.

The next deadline is in May 31st, 2013, and those enterprises that produce or import substances in quantities between 100 and 1000 tons per year will have to submit a registration dossier to ECHA. After this date, trading of non-registered substances is not allowed. In order to be able to register by that day, a pre-registration or an inquiry is required.
